Carnegie park post acute have been wonderful with my mother. They listen when we ask, they’re kind and very helpful.

When I left this place, I was given a written record of my stay, which varies greatly with the actual care I received. I was recovering from a knee replacement. The record states that I was put in compression stocking daily; I was never put in compression stockings, it says I was treated daily for bed sores, I did not have bed sores. It says Milk of Mag was administered daily. I asked for it daily, I got it once. The facilities themselves need to be fixed up; the blind slats are broken and hanging, letting in bright sun. The shower room was revolting; it is a back room where all kinds of unused, old medical equipment is piled up. The sewer smells strongly of feces. The food was inedible. I developed a system of ordering one meal per day from Door Dash, and making it last. This facility seems to have mostly long term Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. It is very unpleasant for someone not suffering from those disorders to live with the shouting, and incontinence that was constant, and made mealtime disgusting. The two types of patient should not be mixed. I had one room mate who refused to have the AC on in 100 degree weather. I needed it at those temps. She became more and more agitated and violent, attacking nurses and hurling furniture, laying one the call button, etc. She got her way. I got moved to another room. I got a second unhinged room mate whom I demanded escape from, and finally was moved to a third room with a disabled, quite pleasant woman. Here was my biggest problem: All three of these patients insisted on having their TVs on loud, every minute of every day. No respite. . Loud. They told me they couldn’t sleep unless it was on loud. I begged the facility to set some quiet hours so I could get some rest. I honestly was exhausted. I was told that having a quiet time with TV off would violate their rights. Didn’t I have any rights? Above all I stress that people just there for recovery should not be housed with incontinent , mentally disturbed patients. There were a couple of raucous nights when a few of them got out and make a huge commotion. It is incredibly sad. But I needed sleep, and to eat without someone defecating in the bed next to mine. The staff was divided into two sections, the older women who were efficient, attentive, and kind, and the younger ones who were insolent , confrontational and inefficient. One, who had no idea how to handle injuries, picked my leg up and threw it on the bed, twice. Hurt my foot another time. I said, “Ow!” and blamed me for not telling her ahead of time that it would hurt. She took offense that I said “Ow!” So when food deliveries came to the front desk, she came waddling back, carrying other bags, not mine. “You, Hamilton, I ain’t bringing you food, because I don’t like your attitude.” I kid you not. I never had a job where I got to pick and choose which tasked I was going to do. I did not have a good experience there. However, they have some improvements that would make a stay there a healing experience.

Visiting a friend, very clean atmosphere. I played guitar on the patio for my friend, his daughter and others coming in and out. Friendly staff.

Horrible experience. My father was in the facility briefly. The first floor staff was extremely rude. Attempting to get information was horrible the nurse was not only rude but definitely uneducated. This nurse was at the nurses station having a heated discussion with the aide while divulging hippa protected information about another patient in front of me. My father was sent to the ED by the doctor and never went back. Wouldn’t put my dog there!! Oh and I’m a nurse 37 years.

This is the worst facility I have ever seen. The staff was extremely rude. Most staff was agency. My father was there briefly when he was sent to the hospital by the doctor. It was clear we would never send him back there. Wouldn’t send my dog there!! They made me select a star before posting. This place gets 0 stars!!

The staff here are very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend this facility

WOW! You can tell that Carnegie Park Post Acute is investing their time and talent in changing the perception and patient experience in this building. I 100% would send my loved one there again! Thanks to all the staff that worked endlessly in making sure everything met our standards.

REALLY ITS -0 STARS It was the worst facility I have EVER experienced!!! The staff on the first floor are some lazy disrespectful people They are vindictive and rude!¡ They don’t practice proper hygiene etiquette and treat the patients very poorly it’s a sad shame that people are being treated this way!!!! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!!! THEY ARE DISGRACING YOUR COMPANY NAME!!!

Once you walk in the smell of urine and feces is overwhelming.

We had continual issues with our Dad’s care and can not recommend CPPA in good faith. Like other posts, our loved one experienced negligence, understaffing, lack of attention to basic care, ignored requests and some of the administrative staff are kind to your face but disparaging when they *think* you have left. My mistake is that it took me almost a year to leave this review.

Our landscape company provided snow removal services for Carnegie Post Acute this past Winter. Unfortunately, they have refused to pay their invoices(after several attempts), leaving us short by thousands of dollars. This is not the kind of company I would recommend to anyone for their friends or relatives. Response to response: It is truly astonishing how promptly you can address a negative review yet fail to respond to the numerous emails we have sent concerning your overdue invoices. Despite calling the number provided, we have not made any progress. It is important to note that the work was carried out after the transition to new management. Our team worked tirelessly, often late into the night, to ensure the safety of your patients by providing essential snow removal services. Your standard responses to negative reviews reflect a lack of genuine concern for your patients and vendors.

I’ve read all the negative comments and for me we didn’t experience any of that. My brother was on the 3rd floor and EVERYBODY was very kind and helpful. When he came in we thought that he was literally going to die. This facility got him turned around and he’s even walking now!!! Huge shout out to Amy, Jess and Barb for all that they did for my brother!! We thought the food was very good as well. If he ever needs skilled nursing again this will definitely be our “go to” for sure!!! Thanks again Carnegie Park!!!!!

Please improve your food. When visiting someone at your facility I saw that it’s disgusting. My dog wouldn’t eat it.

My mother was a patient for one week. During that week, she had a request for a test for an infection ignored for 3 days, developed an infection, she was given pills that were never prescribed by her family physician, ignored when she said she did not want to be given the pills, told to walk herself to the toilet ( she was a fall risk), then was told to wait for 40 minutes when she has to use the toilet, was put in a room where the heat was set to 85°, had a nurse tell us ” i will get around to your request after I do the other ten things that I have to do”. I was told by an employee that there was only one nurse and one aide for the entire floor, on a day that I visited. I will say there was one nurse that was very empathetic to our situation. I cryed after leaving the facility yesterday and promised my mother that she would be leaving the facility the following day.

My uncle went to Carnegie Park Post after chemotherapy. He was deconditioned from cancer treatment. The entire staff was wonderful. He said he really liked Joyce, a nurse on the first floor, CeCe and Austin ( CNAs). He also said the physical therapy was excellent. He liked working with both Dan’s in physical therapy and Craig and they were very encouraging to him. When he left, he was able to walk up 15 steps to enter his apartment. He told me ” Everyone should go there for rehab.” My uncle is now at home living alone.
